Astrological Insights for 17 August 2009

Hmm….

That’s the first word that came to mind as I reflected upon how to capture the day’s astrological energies. As I uttered the sound out loud, I realized that it not only embraced my initial questioning of how to describe today’s planetary alignments but that, in fact, it actually captured the description itself.

Let me explain: Today we experience not one, but two, attention-grabbing planetary aspects: Mercury and Saturn are in conjunction while Neptune and the Sun are in opposition. On the surface these seem like contradictory energies: an emphasis on the real (Mercury/Saturn, in Virgo nevertheless) and the ideal (Neptune/Sun).

Yet, there is a way to traverse the two by “Hmm….ing”: pondering, ruminating, meditating. Use the mental strength encapsulated in the Mercury/Saturn alignment to hone your focus upon that which is Neptunian—what inspires you, brings you bliss, and makes you feel at ease. This way instead of being pushed/pulled between a sense of Saturnian restriction and Neptunian boundarylessness, you can deliberately use your mind to survey the landscape of your imagination and all that is possible.
