Astrological Insights for 30 July 2010

Did you ever eat Pop Rocks as a kid? They were the candy that would fizz, shake, rattle, and roll when you put them in your mouth (and also the one that as falsely cited for having a fatal impact upon Mikey, the Life cereal spokeschild).

With Mars in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries, today may have a somewhat Pop Rocks-like feel to it. We may perceive a sense of erraticness with out-of-the-blue assertions of will appearing in the least likely of places. Throughout the day, we may expect someone to do X (after all, we have seen that they always do!) only to evidence them pursuing Y (which we thought they never do!).

Therefore, one of the best strategies in moving through Mars/Uranus opposition energy is to be fluid and flexible. If we go through this period of time knowing that things may manifest in ways not anticipated, it can help dissipate us feeling caught off guard (and therefore mitigate a certain level of potential anxiety). If we expect the unexpected, even if we don’t know how it will manifest, it will have less shake-the-shack impacts than if we expect things to proceed as we assume they always do and then realize that’s not necessarily how it’s turning out to be.

Remember that Mars/Uranus calls upon us to express ourselves in novel and inventive ways. As we envision moving through our day and finding solutions to challenges faced, we should consider whether there is another route to take, one that calls in unique problem-solving approaches that we usually don’t rely upon. These may very well hold the key to making progress in certain areas of our life.
