Astro-Poetry for the Day

Swimming in the seas
Of connectivity.
We cast nets
That network,
Forging a stellar web
Of unity.

Blurring bounds,
A turnaround
To pragmatic approaches
Previously taken.
We recognize new allies,
They are us.

*Astrological Signatures of the Day: Aquarius Moon conjunct Neptune; Moon moves into Pisces

There is one constant in the universe. And that is that everything changes. Nothing stays the same. We are in evolving motion.

And yet the idea of change is so frightening to many. We live in an illusion that reality is based upon solidity, that reliability equals stasis.

And yet the flies in the face of true reality.

Why is it that we are so afraid of change when if what many so desire—security and reliability—is actually bridled and synonymous with the idea of metamorphosis and evolvement.

Today, with the Sun opposing both wisdom-evoking Jupiter and revolution-and-advancement-inspiring Uranus, reflections on this question may bode great insights. Looking into our own personal relationship with change—how we approach it, if we are afraid of it, if we are drawn to it, et al.—may stoke great learning and awareness that we can use as we move forward in our lives.

Today is a powerful passage way. The Sun is moving from Virgo to Libra. As Libra is a cardinal sign, when the Sun moves into Libra later this evening, it will be inhabiting the Aries Point; this is the space that resides at 0 degrees Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, which represents the integral unity of the individual and the collective in which they are a part. When a planet travels through the Aries Point we are reminded that what happens to each of us is not separate from what happens to the world, and visa versa.

As we are in the illuminated rays of tomorrow’s Full Moon and with the Pisces Moon conjoining Jupiter and Uranus, don’t be surprised if emotions and moods (whether yours, another’s, or the general feeling gestalt that you connect into) seem a bit frazzled and erratic. There’s the potential for a lot of energy to be circulating throughout, and a sense of can’t-quite-tell-what’s-on-the-horizon to be strongly felt. Just remember that when Uranus energy runs strong (like it does today given its connection with the Moon, and one that is enhanced to the Moon’s connection to Jupiter), a wonderful strategy is to invoke fluidity and flexibility. Know within yourself that you have the resources to work with whatever may come. It may be a roll-with-the-punches sort of day; since knowledge is power, knowing this may provide a comforting sense of personal empowerment.

Today is the Full Moon. And a powerful one at that.

Not only do the Sun and Moon square transformative Pluto but this lunation falls on the Aries Point given that the Sun is at 0’15” Libra and the Moon at 0’15” Aries. The Aries Point is the name given to the beginning of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn—a zodiacal space on which many planets have been residing recently. The significance of the Aries Point is that it represents the link between the individual and the collective, reminding us that we are “all in this together.”

I have recently grown fond of an astrological signature called antiscia. When a planet is an antiscion to another, it takes the position of being its mirror image, with the fulcrum point being the Cardinal Axis (0 Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn). Antiscia, also known as solstice points, are therefore midpoint pictures around the Aries Point. You can look to see if planets are natally antiscia to others. Additionally, you can be aware of when a transiting planet resides in the antiscion of a natal planet; this will cause the natal planet’s energy to come to light and be activated in a way that allows it to be more greatly seen.

Today, the Sun resides in the antiscion of both Uranus and Jupiter. As such the day may be filled with a sense of pushing-the-boundary risk taking and expression of individuality. Additionally it may have a feeling of being very expansive, in that everything-seems-possible sort of way. Again, just like on Wednesday, connect in to a sense of fluidity and flexibility since this is a beneficial way to play energetic aikido when Uranian energy runs high.

Libra, the sign in which the Sun currently resides, is the sign of beauty. It inspires the desire to have everything ordered, balanced, and harmonious. With Libra radiating strongly, there’s a focus on decorum and doing things the “right” way.

With Pluto squaring the Sun today, we may be taken on a voyage below the surface of Libran niceties. If we have been avoiding looking at facets of a situation that we perceived as unseemly, those that we envisioned would make waves, today these truths may strongly call for our attention, and surge back into our field of vision.

Yet, don’t fear: One of the things that this alignment can help promote is an expanded definition of what is beautiful. It can help us to see that truth and honesty, and the expression of a range of feelings and intents, do not bar us from experiencing a sense of grace, and that true beauty can be experienced when we embrace shadows rather than casting them off.
