I’m thrilled to announce a class that I will be offering next month in Seattle. It’s a collaborative project that master pie-maker Kate McDermott and I have created. It evolved from our shared passion for invoking the sacred into everyday life. One day as we were discussing the myth of the goddess Eris and her connection to the apple, it sparked an idea – Why not do a workshop where people can learn about the goddesses through every dayrituals like making pie? And with that, the idea for this class–Apple Pie Goddesses: Connecting to the Sacred in the Everyday–was born.

I’m thrilled to be able to teach with Kate, and extremely inspired by all that we will share in this innovative and transformative class. Read on for more details.

Apple Pie Goddesses: Connecting to the Sacred in the Everyday

The Everyday is alive with meaning. It’s rife with a sense of sacredness that allows us to feel peaceful, aligned, and empowered. One beautiful way to access this is to honor each action, no matter how large or small, as an avenue to identify with our own goddess energy. Through this approach we can foster a deeper connection with our self and the world around us.

In this inspiring and practical class, award-winning piemaker and master teacher Kate McDermott will demonstrate her secrets for making the classic American apple pie.  Along with Kate’s presentation, I will help you connect to the world of sacred meaning through exploring the three goddesses whose stories come alive through the baking of the pie:
* Feminist Eris (symbolized by the apple)
* Protectress Ceres (symbolized by the flour)
* Devotional Vesta (symbolized by the oven)

Through our exploration you’ll learn ways to invoke their energies into your life and more deeply connect with the goddess within. You’ll infuse your Everyday with a great sense of sacredness, and experience the calm and great empowerment that this can bring.

Today, with the self-expressive Sun squaring consciousness-promoting Neptune, I thought it an auspicious time to let you know of its progress.

The mission of The Take 5! Project is to inspire people to enjoy better health and well-being through mindfulness and meditation.

The premise is simple – anyone, even those of us who have very busy lifestyles – can embark on a meditation practice by just starting with 5 minutes each day. Hence – Take 5! It’s an approach that demystifies meditation and makes it accessible to everyone.

I hope you’ll “Like” the Facebook page and share it with your Friends. The page will offer tips, tools and community support to educate and inspire. And to help you—and others—to live a more powerful life by enjoying the greater relaxation, well-being, and inner peace that comes via a meditation practice.

With Mercury and Venus now in Sagittarius, master herbalist Karyn Schwartz and I have got our sites set upon our next Astrological Wellness Salon.

Its focus is the upcoming Sagittarius Season (November 22 – December 21) and all that this adventurous, meaning-seeking, and journeying time has in store.

It’s scheduled for Thursday, November 17, 6:30pm-8:00pm  at SugarPill Apothecary.

We’re going to be discussing the major celestial alignments unfolding during this time. It should be a powerful gathering given that:

• We’ve got another Mercury retrograde cycle right around the corner [November 23 – December 13]
• We’re on the brink of two eclipses [Sagittarius Solar Eclipse on November 24 and Gemini Lunar Eclipse on December 10]
• Shake-it-up Uranus is turning direct on December 9

We’ll explore all of these—plus more—looking to see what these events may catalyze, how to constructively channel their energies, and which self-care suggestions are helpful for moving through their challenges. These will include dietary approaches, essential oils, flower essences, and lifestyle recommendations to help you galvanize a sense of physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Kimberly’s jewelry is really beautiful. She melds great craftsmanship with unique subjects—including wolves adorning rings, serpents dangling from earrings, and unicorn horns gracing necklaces—to create jewelry with both a Uranian and Plutonian twist.

Of course, of her many creations the ones that first caught my attention were those that gave a nod to the heavens–her constellation necklaces.
